The Essentials — Onion Tart

I have decided to share some cooking recipes that might be interesting for you. Most of the times, you may not have the time or you just don’t feel like cooking, but you still want a fresh and healthy meal. Want to learn how to make something with whatever you have in the fridge? Then you have come to the right place! These recipes, while quick and inexpensive, are nutritious and tasty at the same time.

Today I want to teach you how to make onion tart. It’s pretty easy, low cost, and the whole thing takes less than an hour from beginning to end. It’s quite delicious, too!

Prep: 15 minutes
Cook: 30 minutes

Ingredients:
4 large onions
3 eggs
300ml cream
Grated cheese
Ready-made tart dough
Salt and pepper to season

Instructions:
Peel and chop the onions, then fry them in oil until they’re golden. In the meanwhile, beat the eggs into a bowl, and then add cream, salt, and pepper. Mix in the fried onions and the cheese, and give the mixture a good stir.

Pre-heat the oven to 180°C. Put the ready-made pastry into a tray or round case, and bake for 15 minutes. Afterwards, remove from the oven, add the mixture to the pastry, slide it back in for another 30 minutes (or until the top is slightly brown), and your onion tart is ready. I highly recommend serving with lettuce salad or mint and basil for a more delicious taste!
